Impressions
Impressions count every display of content, including the same person seeing it repeatedly. Dividing impressions by reach gives frequency; once frequency climbs well past the low single digits, additional impressions mostly re-serve the same audience. Reports quoting only impressions should prompt a request for reach.
Worked example
19,000 impressions across 8,200 reached people is a frequency of 2.3 — each viewer saw the content about twice.
