Client Work
Client work pays most of the bills for most people reading this, and almost all of the money is won or lost before any work starts — in the number you quote, the scope you define, and the clause you did or did not include.
This section covers what to charge and how to defend it, writing a proposal that closes, the contract terms that matter most (and the ones that quietly cost you), handling scope that moves, and ending a client relationship without setting fire to it.
Figures here are either attributed to a named public source or labelled as one person’s own experience. There are no invented averages, because “the going rate is…” is usually somebody guessing.
