Money

This is the section people arrive at in a hurry, usually because an invoice is overdue or a tax deadline is close.

It covers pricing models and which suits which situation, invoicing that gets paid, what to do when a client does not pay and when to stop chasing, the tax basics for people working for themselves, and how much runway you need before any of this is a sensible bet.

Two rules apply throughout. Every figure is sourced or labelled as personal experience — never an invented average. And everything here is general information rather than tax, legal or financial advice: jurisdiction changes almost all of it, and the difference between a UK sole trader and a US LLC is large enough that generic advice is actively unhelpful.
